TUTORIAL- C107 HELLO I’M NEW!- “BABY SHOWER CARD”- By Lisa- Marie Watling

You will need:

  • Fabscraps C107 002 Love and Laughter
  • Fabscraps C107 005 Well, Hello There
  • Fabscraps C107 008 Isn’t She Lovely
  • Fabscraps ST107 001 Sticker Sheet
  • Cardstock – white, pink
  • Pink chalk
  • Embroidery silk – brown, pink
  • Glitter glue – blue, pink
  • Adhesives – foam tape, Tombow, double sided tape

Method:

  1. Cut your pink cardstock down to measure 6 x 12 inches. Score down the middle so that you are left with a 6 x 6 inch card front
  2. Cut the flying piggy side of C107 002 down to measure 5 ¾ x 5 ¾ inches. Distress the edges and sew a border all around the edges before adhering to your card front, using double sided tape
  3. Cut a 5 inch oval from the heart side of C107 005 and distress the edges. Adhere to your card front, one inch from the left
  4. Cut four 2 inch circles from the striped side of C107 008; chalk the edges with pink and distress. Fold all of them in half and adhere them together – save for the first and last one – to create your “balloon”
  5. Cut a 1 x 1 ¾ inch square from the striped side of C107 002 – cut it at a slight downward angle so that it resembles the basket of the hot air balloon. Add on the upper part of the balloon, a 0.5 x 2 inch strip – adhere with foam tape.
  6. Cut two strips of brown embroidery silk to create the ropes of the balloon; adhere one end of each to your “balloon” using double sided tape – and   adhere this to the upper portion of the oval on the card front
  7. Fussy cut two rabbits from C107 008 and adhere them to the back of the ‘basket’ portion of the balloon. Then adhere that down using foam tape – make sure that you catch the two brown strips of embroidery silk
  8. Adhere the “baby shower” sticker to some white cardstock, fussy cut it out and then adhere it to the edge of the basket
  9. Finish off by adding a few highlights to the animals and hearts, using glitter glue in corresponding colours
